How we get to these numbers

Each item with its own model

A fridge is measured in kWh per year, a washing machine in cycles per week, an air conditioner in cooled square metres and months of season. Working them all out as «watts times hours per day times 365» is the fastest way to credit a fridge with half a household's consumption.

From consumption to system size

The recommended size is your annual consumption divided by your roof's yield, with a margin that brings production to about 125% of consumption: not all the energy produced is used the moment it leaves the panels. It is the same calculation the simulator and configurator use.

How much you would actually use

Every item declares how much of its consumption falls in sunlight hours and on how many days a year it runs. An office consumes during the day, but only 250 days: on Sundays the system just produces. That difference is what decides whether a battery is worth it.

These results are an indicative estimate, meant as a starting point. Your roof's yield depends on shading, actual tilt and local climate; consumption depends on habits and on how efficient your appliances are. A final design needs the building's real data.
